Jack Vasel Memorial Fund

About Jack Vasel Memorial Fund

The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund started in April, 2011, in memory of Jack Vasel, son of Dice Tower founder and host Tom Vasel and his wife Laura. Jack was born two months premature and very ill with neonatal meningitis. After nearly seventy days in the hospital, Jack passed away. The gaming community rallied behind Tom and his family during this challenging time. The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund grew out of Tom’s desire to honor that support and make a difference for people in need. The Fund provides financial assistance to members of the public who are part of the gaming community and who have suffered personal hardship not of their own making.

How can comic and game stores apply for relief funds though your organization?

The Jack Vasel Memorial Fund supports the people in the hobby. Any store owner who is part of the gaming community can apply for help to cover their personal needs (house payment/rent, food, medical bills, car payment, etc.). You can find the application form here: https://www.jackvasel.org/apply

What are the requirements to apply for relief?

When the Jack Vasel Memorial Fund evaluates an application, there are two key questions always considered: 1) is this person part of the gaming community, and 2) are they suffering from a personal hardship not of their own making?

How long does the application process take?

The application process is entirely online, so it is quick and easy. The JV fund will evaluate the application, assign a case manager to communicate with the person and review the documentation.
